How to Delete an Account on Xbox 360

Games saves are tied to the profile they are on. So you would have to continue using his profile (which is not recommended) in order to continue your save. So if you were to delete the profile you would lose your save.

I have read that but have also seen this ......

Here's how you can remove any Xbox profile from your Xbox 360 console:

1. Go to settings and select System.
2. Select Storage.

   Note If you don't connect any external storage devices to your console, select Hard Drive. If you do use external storage, select All Devices.

3. Select Profiles.

1. Select the Xbox profile that you want to delete.
2. Select Delete.
3. Select one of the following:
   • Delete Profile Only – This deletes the Xbox profile but leaves saved games and achievements................................................................................................................................................................................................So I don't want to try deleting the profile and lose everything I have done in the last 2 months without being 100% sure I won't have to start over.

You would still need to sign into the account in order to use the gave save. So once you delete it you would have to be able to redownload it to access the game save.

Ultimately it's best to just start over on your own account.

I don't have any of his login information, it just shows up on there when I load the game, I haven't been online with the system yet.  He had never played GTA5 before and I just started playing after getting the game loaded.  He did play other games online and does now on his Xbox1.

Which is good. You shouldn't have any of his login since that violates the code of conduct. But in order to continue using your save progress you would have to continue using his profile since you started the game on his account. Otherwise, you will have to start over on your own account.

So what does it mean when it says" Delete Profile Only – This deletes the Xbox profile but leaves saved games and achievements".....???

It leaves the games saves and achievements in place and removes the profile information. This is so if you were having an issue with a profile, it can be removed and redownloaded without losing any of that information. However, that information is still tied to that account and cannot be accessed by any other accounts.
